2015 Shanxi Wangda Xiang Report

In 2013 and 2014, RISE and Taiyuan University of Technology students constructed arsenic biosand filters in Wangda and Longjiaying villages, Wangda county, Shanxi province. In July 2015, a team returned to survey filter use. First biosand filter training of the new semester

We took advantage of one of the last warm days of Autumn (October 18) to hold our first biosand filter training of the new semester. Under the guidance of John, Kate and Victor, 10 Tsinghua students from 5 continents tried their hand at making their own mini filter. 10月18日上午,清源协会在风景优美的环境学院旧实验室组织了本学期第一次BSF培训。有近10名来自各个国家的同学参加了这次培训。在John通过ppt简单介绍了BSF后,同学们亲自进行了慢滤池的制作搭建。大家互相合作,筛石子,洗沙子,钻孔,干得非常卖力。最后我们成功制作了两个小型的慢滤池并进行了流速的测量。这次培训非常成功,大家都学到了很多。
